Gets Price And Release Date Of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S

We first heard of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S just as this year's IFA in Berlin was set to get rolling. While it's not a huge improvement over the original Arc, we liked what we saw when we were able to give the phone some hands-on attention a few days later. Now we've learned a little more about the phone's release plans, and it looks like it could be getting here slightly sooner than anticipated.

While we were expecting the the Arc S to show up in October, if not a little later into Q4, SE's apparently wasting no time in starting the quarter off with its new hardware. Pre-orders now open for the Arc S have the phone set to first arrive on September 26.

Clove currently has two of the five color variants we've heard about listed on its site for the UK, and we may end up seeing more arrive. With taxes and all, the phone will end up costing the equivalent of about $560; obviously, if it ever makes it to the US, we should expect a much lower subsidized price. It's amusing to note that, for the moment at least, the original Arc demands a higher price than its replacement. That's not a situation that's likely to last long.
