The new affordable QWERTY Android smartphone, Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro smartphone is already available in the UK. This Sony Ericsson phone is a mighty messaging phone with Facebook inside that provides a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard and a beautiful Sony BRAVIA touchscreen display.
The Mobiles.co.uk and Carphone Warehouse have started selling the Xperia Mini Pro for free on plans starting at $20 monthly. For mobile carriers, there are various plans from Orange, Vodafone, and T-Mobile.
According to manufacture, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro smartphone is faster, brighter, and smarter than the original SE X10 mini pro.
Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with TimeScape UI, the Xperia Mini Pro packs a 3-inch HVGA (320 x 480) multi-touch display with scratch-resistant screen, a 5MP rear-facing camera with 720p video recording, a front-facing VGA camera, Wi-Fi and hotspot capability, HSDPA, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor, and 512MB of RAM. Size of Xperia Mini Pro is 92 x 53 x 18 mm and weight 136 grams.

BlackBerry Colt first QNX smartphone in Q1 2012

There is news about the upcoming QNX-based smartphone, the BlackBerry Colt. The BlackBerry handset is also known the RIM’s first QNX smartphone.

According to source, the BlackBerry Colt has similar design to the BlackBerry Bold smartphone.
The Colt smartphone will brings a single-core processor. RIM is planning to release the BlackBerry Cold QNX smartphone in the Q1 2011.

New budget-friendly QWERTY Android smartphone has just offered by Chinavasion. The handset is dubbed the Spectra and selling for price of $119.71 unlocked.
Running on Android 2.2 Froyo OS, Spectra smartphone is bring a 416MHz ARM 9 processor, 256MB of RAM, 151MB of onboard memory, and a microSD card slot (up to 16GB). The Spectra is provides dual GSM SIM card slots, a 2.6-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixel, a full physical QWERTY keyboard, and a 1000mAh battery.

This Spectra touchscreen dual SIM phone has also a 2MP camera on the back, a 0.3MP front-facing camera, a 3.5mm headset jack, and GPS. As connectivity, Spectra pack Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Dimensions of Spectra Android smartphone are 11 x 6 x 1.2 cm.

Motorola FIRE XT / SPICE XT / XT531 Android 2.3 smartphone

Another addition to Motorola's more affordable Android lineup, the Motorola FIRE XT (SPICE XT in South America and XT531 in Asia) certainly isn't the most powerful Motorola you can buy, but overall the specifications are likely to suit a large number of consumers looking for a first Android phone.
                     

The FIRE XT is an Android 2.3 smartphone with a 3.5" 480 x 320 pixel display, with a 5 megapixel camera on the back plus a VGA resolution camera on the front for video calling. Inside is an 800 MHz processor with 512MB of RAM which isn't particularly fast but it should cope with most things you might want to run. The FIRE XT has a multimedia player, FM radio and a 3.5mm audio socket.

All the standard Android features are here, including GPS and Google Maps Navigation, WiFi, 3.5G support, Bluetooth and access to the Android Market plus (in some regions) Motorola's SHOP4APPS store.

There's a relatively large 1540mAh battery in the FIRE XT, quoted as giving up to 8 hours talktime and 28 days standby time on 3G. The handset measures 114 x 62 x 12mm and weighs 114 grams. There is 512MB of    internal flash memory expandable to 32GB with a microSD card. Physically, it's not a bad looking device with curved edges and a two-tone finish.

In its Asian XT531 version, there will be a dual-SIM variant available in certain markets in, as well as the standard single-SIM model.
Handsets like this sell on price, but Motorola have not said how much the FIRE XT will cost, but our guess is that it will retail for about €300 or so when it hits the shops in the autumn.

RIM brings new five BlackBerry smartphones

RIM (Research In Motion) has just launched five BlackBerry smartphones to the world. They are the BlackBerry Torch 9810, the BlackBerry Bold 9900, the BlackBerry Bold 9930, the BlackBerry Torch 9850, and the BlackBerry Torch 9860.
All of them are running on BlackBerry 7 OS and boasts a 1.2GHz processor. The BlackBerry Torch 9810 smartphone has surfaced by AT&T carriers in the US. It packs a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 768MB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, and a microSD card slot. The BlackBerry Torch 9810 has a rear-facing 5MP camera with 720p video recording, a front-facing VGA camera, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity.

Reportedly, BlackBerry Torch 9810 will be available also on Rogers, Telus and Bell (Canada), O2, Vodafone, Three, and Virgin Mobile (the UK)
The BlackBerry Bold 9930 and 9900 smartphones have features a 640 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display, a physical QWERTY keyboard, a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth. Thickness of BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 are just 10.5mm.
The BlackBerry Torch 9860 and 9850 smartphones are brings a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolutions, a 5MP camera, 768MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. Both BlackBerry handsets are comes without a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Nokia has official introduced a new entry-level smartphone, the Nokia 500. The colorful handset is running latest Symbian Anna and packs interchangeable back covers. Reportedly, the Nokia 500 is offering a refreshed UI, split-screen messaging, and a better browser.

Samsung Galaxy R smartphone gets official

Reportedly, Samsung has official announced its new smartphone, called the Samsung Galaxy R. It was known in Sweden last month as the Samsung Galaxy Z smartphone. In the UK, the handset was supposedly landed as the Samsung Galaxy R.
Running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, the Samsung Galaxy R is powered by a dual-core 1GHz Nvidia Tegra processor, 8GB internal memory expandable with microSD card (up to 32GB). The Galaxy R smartphone packs a 4.19-inch WVGA Super Clear LCD display, a rear 5MP AF camera with LED Flash and a front-facing 1.3MP camera, a 3.5mm ear jack, and stereo FM Radio with RDS.

In term of connectivity, Samsung Galaxy R is brings Bluetooth v3.0 + HS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, and USB 2.0 HS.
